"and music and singing have been my refuge, and music and singing shall be my light." - Frank Ticheli

About Me

Hello! My name is Lydia Cantrell-Montalvo, I am a vocal coach based in Bowling Green, Kentucky. I received my undergraduate degree in Vocal Performance from Western Kentucky University, and a master's degree in music with concentrations in Vocal Performance/Pedagogy and Choral Conducting from Campbellsville University. I have been teaching private voice lessons since 2022 and have been studying voice for over 10 years. I have been a part of on-stage groups and productions for over 15 years, including musical theater and opera productions, choral master works, community and church choirs. I also have experience in solo performances and competitions, winning first place in the MT 9 category at the 2023 NATs Regional Competition, and have given 4 personal recitals. I am very passionate about what I do and love teaching music creativity to any and all who wish to learn, and I accept all within my studio, no exceptions!
